We have 5 box turtles ? 4 females and 1 male. One is a ?pet-store? turtle that we?ve had for over 20 years? the other 5 are adopted from people who had captured them (or adopted them from others) and could not care for them any longer. We have NOT captured any of these lovely animals ? but love having them in our home. They are in an outside pen during the warm weather and they hibernate in our basement in the cold months.
One female has laid eggs. We tried incubating them last year and sadly had NO success. We are hoping she lays again and we will try again (perhaps using an actual incubator) |
